Energy Time Shift (ETS) Module

Product Description

The Cat® Energy Time Shift (ETS) system is a compact hybrid energy system designed for telecom and other DC voltage applications. It integrates with multiple energy sources such as solar power, electrical utility/ grid (where available) and generator set. This will enable ETS system to utilize the stored energy when the renewable source or electrical utility/grid is unavailable or not sufficient to meet the site load.

Benefits of the Cat® Energy Time Shift System

Among renewable energy time shift systems, the Cat ETS stands out because it can:

  • Scale easily: The ETS is U.S. factory tested and pre-engineered in a modular container that contains the inverter, batteries, and other equipment in one transportable unit. You can add additional hardware in the field as your needs change, continually meeting your power needs.
  • Integrate seamlessly: The ETS integrates with generator sets, the Cat Energy Capacity Expansion (ECE) module, and the Cat Microgrid Master Controller (MMC) to create renewable energy time-shifting solutions tailored to your needs. The ETS can integrate with your choice of renewable energy sources, including wind and solar.
  • Run efficiently: The high-performance inverter gives you control over energy flow and maintains voltage stability. You can operate multiple modules in parallel, increasing power output and battery capacity. You can also shut down generator sets as needed to save fuel while using your time shift energy storage.

The ETS also offers time-shift energy storage with enhanced safety features, including a fire suppression system and gas detection.

Is This System Right for You?

If you’ve been looking for an energy storage system (ESS), the ETS offers a flexible, modular design for fast deployment. The ETS can help with a range of time-shifting energy storage needs:

  • Communities: Government buildings, military bases and operations, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure can’t afford power outages. The ETS can be the core of any uninterruptible power supply (UPS), especially in situations where communities aim to increase their use of renewable energy. It is also a suitable solution for small towns and disaster recovery in communities, where traditional power sources may be unreliable or unavailable.
  • Commercial and industrial operations: Heavy industries, data centers, construction, energy extraction, manufacturing, retail stores, warehouses, and other commercial environments incur high costs when power is unavailable. With the ETS, power is always available when needed, even in the field. You face less downtime and protect your bottom line.
  • Off-grid applications: Oil and gas production sites, mining operations, and other remote communities or areas with limited infrastructure can benefit from the ETS, which provides power where it is needed.
  • Utilities: Utilities that produce electricity and power on their own, and smaller utilities can rely on the ETS to maintain a steady supply of power for everyday operations.
  • Agriculture operations: Livestock farms, greenhouses, and heavy farm equipment can all be powered by the ETS.
  • Smart charging: Transportation systems, cranes, heavy equipment, and ferries can all use the ETS for smart charging.
