ATC Contactor Based Bypass Isolation Automatic Transfer Switch

Product Description

Cat® transfer switches are designed for a variety of standby power applications. They provide flexibility, reliability and value in a compact package. A Bypass Isolation Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) provides fully functioning transfer in applications where emergency power to critical loads must be maintained at all times with no interruption. This type of design allows for inspection, maintenance or replacement of the power switching mechanisms with no interruption in electrical service. Contactor -based Bypass Isolation ATS are available from 100A to 1200A.

Critical power systems require regular inspections and servicing to perform reliably and efficiently. Using a conventional automatic transfer switch (ATS) forces you to choose between performing these tasks and keeping your equipment running. A bypass isolation transfer switch solves this problem by providing a secondary power path that delivers continuous operation.

These units are essential for facilities where even momentary power interruptions can compromise safety or damage sensitive equipment.

Thompson Power Systems is your trusted partner for all your power equipment needs. We offer bypass isolation ATS options from 100 to 1200 amps to deliver the reliability that mission-critical facilities need. Our experts can help you select the most practical solutions for your unique power application.

Benefits of a Bypass Isolation Transfer Switch

An automatic transfer switch with bypass isolation is a practical solution for maintaining continuous power while servicing equipment. The design allows technicians to work safely on the main transfer switch while power flows through the bypass circuit. This capability is especially valuable for facilities that can’t afford power interruptions or downtime.

Key benefits include:

  • Reliability: An ATS has multiple paths that maintain power during maintenance or switch replacement.
  • Easy maintenance: Technicians can perform maintenance or repairs without shutting down the entire system.
  • Safety: Safety interlocks and isolated pathways protect your workers and equipment during servicing.
  • Flexibility: Choose between automatic and manual operation modes to test your backup power system without risking load interruption.
